| flaccid | lacking tone in muscle |
| insertion | the place of attachment of a muscle to a spine so movement can take place |
| Isotonic | contractions in which the muscles contract and shorten |
| muscle fatigue | loss of power to contract after prolonged periods of muscle contraction |

| origin | the more fixed attachment of the muscle, the beginning |
