TermDefinition
Circulatory System The system that transports blood and other fluids throughout the body
Heart The muscular organ of an animal that pumps blood throughout the body
Ventricle A chamber in an organism’s heart that pumps blood out to the body
Artery A blood vessel that carries blood away from the heart
Vein Blood vessels that carry blood toward the heart
White Blood Cells A blood cell that helps fight germs and diseases
Red Blood Cells A blood cell that carries oxygen to other cells in the body
Plasma The liquid part of blood
Platelets A part of a cell that is found in blood that helps blood to clot on a wound
