| Wave | Is the use of force to move an object some distances. |
| Medium | Is the meterial-solid liquid or gas through which a wave can travel. |
| Crest | The pointss where the wave is highest. |
| Trough | The ponits where the waves is lowest. |
| Longitudinal wave | Particles move back and forth in the same direction that the wave travels. |
| Compression | Engrey is transfred from one end of the spring toy to another. |
| Rarefraction | When you spread the coils apart. |
| Transverse wave | Wave, the spring coils move up and down. |
| Mechanical waves | Waves that require a meduim. |
| Amplitude | is a measure of how for particles in the meduim move from their rest postion. |
| Wavelength | Is defined as the distance from any ponit on a wave to the next identical ponit on the same wave. |
| Frequency | Is the number of waves that pass a ponit in a given amount of time usually one second. |
| Hertz | One hertz is equal to one wavelength per second. |
| Wave speed | The speed that waves travel. |
| Power | In a phyicial amount energy put out of or produced in agiven amount of time. |
| Work | Activity in which one exerts strength or faclties to do or perform something. |
