How does Earth's year relate to its motion in space? The closer to the sun the shorter the years
What causes day and night? Earth's rotation
Why does Earth have seasons? Because of the direction earth is tilted on its axis as it revolves around the sun
What is the difference between weight and mass? Weight-how heavy an object is Mass-what you're made of
Why do things weigh different on different planets/or the moon? Because the force of gravity can be weaker or stronger than on Earth
What are the 2 factors that affect the gravity between 2 objects? Mass and Distance
What are the 2 factors that keep Earth in motion around the sun? Inertia and Gravity
What causes the moon phases? The changes from relative positions of the moon, Earth, and the sun cause the moon phases
Why do we see certain moon phases from earth? We see certain phases from Earth because as the moon rotates and revolves different parts of the moon are lit by the sun
During what phase does a solar eclipse occur? Full moon
During what phase does a Lunar eclipse occur? New moon
What causes tides? The pull of gravity on water from the moon and sun
During what phase does a Spring Tide occur? New moon
During what phase does a Neap Tide occur? 1st and 3rd quarter moon
