What are the tallest plants? Trees
What are shrubs? They are smaller than trees and live in between trees
What do we find on the forest floor? Herbaceous plants and mosses
Where do Herbaceous plants and mosses grow? They grow on rocks and tree trunks
What is undergrowth? Shrubs and herbaceous plants. becuase they grow under trees
What are Deciduous Trees? Trees that lose their leaves in Winter.
What are Evergreen Trees? Trees which keep their leaves all year round. They are forever Green.
What is the difference between deciduous trees and evergreen trees? Evergreen trees always have leaves. Deciduous trees lose their leaves in Winter.
The undergrowth is made up of what two things? Shrubs and herbaceous plants
What grows on rocks and tree trunks? Herbaceous plants and mosses
For what 5 reasons must we look after Woods and forests? 1. Woods and forests affect the climate of a place 2. They clean the air of pollution 3. They protect us from the noise of traffic 4. They provide us with Wood, mushrooms, and berries 5. They allow us to enjoy peace and quiet and contact with nature.
What are the 4 types of forest plants? 1. Trees 2. Shrubs 3. Forest Floor (herbaceous plants and mosses) 4. Undergrowth (shrubs and herbaceous plants)
How many trees grow in tropical forests? Many different types of trees
How many trees grow in pine, oak, or beach Woods? Only one type of tree grows.
How should we look after our Woods? 1. Never leave rubbish 2. Do not light fires 3. Only use a vehicle on permitted tracks, never among the trees 4. Do not damage plants and do not disturb the animals or their homes 5. When you are walking, stay on the marked paths 6. Leave the Woods a
