| Troposphere | Layer of the Earth's atmosphere that is CLOSET to the surface |
| Air Pressure | The force put on a given area by the weight of the air above it. |
| Altitude | It is how high something is above the Earth's surface |
| Humidity | The amount of water vapor in the air |
| Barometer | An Instrument that measures air pressures |
| Convection | Transfer of heat through the movement of a gas or a liquid. |
| Global Wind | Winds that blow in a predictable direction |
| Climate | The average weather patterns of a region. |
| Current | An ongoing movement in one direction |
| Air mass | A large region of air that has a similar temperature and humidity. |
| Front | The place where two air masses meet. |
| Thunderstorm | A rainstorm that includes thunder and lightening |
| Tornado | A rotating, funnel-shaped cloud with extremely high winds |
| Low Pressure Closure | An area of low pressure surrounded by an area of high pressure |
| Hurricane | A very large, swirling storm with very low pressure at its center and wind speeds higher than 73 miles per hour |
| Storm surge | A bulge of water created by an area of very low pressure in the ocean. |
| Cyclone | A storm with a flow pressure closure and a circular pattern of winds |
