Science Questions

A variety of science questions over the course of this year in grade 8!

QuestionAnswer
What does work mean in science? It is when you move an object.
What are the names of 3 organ systems? The Nervous system, the Digestive system, and the Circulitory system.
How do you calculate Mechanical Advantage? You take the output force and divide it by the input force.
What is the formula for Speed Ratio? SR=din/dout
What are the 6 simple machines? Lever,Inclined Plane,Wedge,Pulley, and Wheel and Axle.
What is a Pure Substance? It is a fluid made of only one component, itself.
What is a concave lens? It is a lens that spreads out the light that is refracted through it.
What is the Integumentary system about? Your skin?
What is a colloid? A substance thats components separate after a long period of time.
What is the job of enzymes? They help to break down your food. Found in saliva.
What does your bladder do? It stores urine.
Where could you find nerves? You could find them in your spinal cord.
Do you have to use math in science? Yes!
How do you calculate Density? YOu divide mass by volume.
In Mrs.Harris's grade eight science classes did we have to do a lab on disecting a chicken wing? Yes
