TermDefinition
Orthographic Drawing 2D drawing of front, top, right sides of an object shown separately.
Isometric Drawing 3D pictorial drawing showing front, top, and right sides all together for a realistic look of an object.
Object Line A heavy solid line used on a drawing to represent the outline of an object.
Hidden Line A dashed line used on a drawing to represent an edge that is not visible because it is behind another surface.
Dimension Constraint that sets the size or location of features on a part.
Technical Drawing Done with a computer or drawing tools. Very accurate drawing with dimensions . Used to make parts.
Freehand Sketch or Drawing Done without tools or a computer. Quick way of communicating design ideas.
CAD Computer Aided Drawing. Software used to create technical drawing.
