| Moh's Hardness Scale | The Moh's Scale of mineral hardness is a qualitative ordinal scale that characterizes the scratch resistance of various minerals through the ability of a harder material to scratch a softer material. |
| Luster | Luster is the way light interacts with the surface of a crystal, rock, or mineral. |
| Hardness | hardness is The Ability to resist being scratched. |
| Cleavage | Tendency to break on a flat surface. cleavage |
| Fracture | Tendency to break on a non flat surface. fracture |
| Streak | streak is The color of a mineral when powdered and observed against an unglazed white porcelain plate. |
