weather the day-to-day state of the atmosphere

air pressure the force exerted by the atmosphere on Earth's surface
barometer an instrument that measures the amount of atmospheric pressure
cold front the boundary when a cold, dry, air mass overtakes a warmer, humid air mass
humidity amount of water vapor or moisture in air
air masses large bodies of air that have specific characteristics of pressure, temperature, and humidity
high pressure air mass an air mass with greater atmospheric pressure than the surrounding air masses
low pressure air mass air mass with less atmospheric pressure than the surrounding air masses
warm front the boundary when a warm , moist air mass overtakes a cool, dense, and dryer air mass
weather map shows the weather conditions at a specific time over a specific region
climate weather averaged over a longer period of time, like 100 years
