| Villi | finger shaped bumps that soak up nutrients and create larger surface area which are in the small intestine |
| esophogus | a tube that food travels down into stomach |
| large intestine | removes extra water from wastes |
| gall bladder | stores digestive juices |
| stomach | mixed and churns food with digestive juices |
| saliva | contains an enzyme that turns starch into sugar |
| small intestine | puts nutrients in bloodstream |
| peristalsis | muscle that pushes food through the esophagus |
| pancreas | helps control the amount of sugar in the blood flow and makes chemicals that break down proteins carbohydrates and fats |
| liver | stores sugar, and gets rid of harmful chemicals |
| enzyme | digestive juices that help speed up chemical reactions and made in stomach, small intestine, and pancreas. |
| diffusion | When something moves from a crowded area to a less crouded area. Food diffuses through the villi to the capillaries |

| dependent variable | a variable that is measured |
| Bile | a yellowish liquid made in the liver that helps your body digest food by breaking down your food |
