Mass Movement
| Term | Definition |

| Deposition | The process in which sediment is laid down in new locations |
| Erosion | The process by which water, ice, wind, or gravity moves weathered rock and soil |
| Sediment | Earth´s materials deposited by erosion |
| Creep | The very slow downhill movement of rock and soil |
| Slump | When a mass of rock and soil suddenly slips down a slope in one large mass |
| Mudslide | The rapid downhill movement of a mixture of water, rock, and soil |
| Landslide | The most destructive kind of mass movement which occurs when rock and soil slide quickly down a steep slope |
| Mass Movement | Any one of several processes by which gravity moves sediment downhill |
| Gravity | The force that moves rocks and other materials downhill |
