TermDefinition
Heredity the passing of traits from parent to offspring
Genetics The study of how traits are inherited through interactions of alleles.
Alleles different forms of a trait that a gene may have
Dominant trait a trait that covers up or dominates another form of that trait.
Recessive trait a trait that is covered over or dominated by another form of the trait
Homozygous an organism with two alleles that are the same. (AA)
Heterozygous an organism that has two different alleles for a trait.(Aa)
Genotype Genetic makeup of an organism.(Aa,AA,aa).
Phenotype the way an organism looks and behaves as a result of a genotype
