Coriolis effect the apparent curving of the path of a moving object from an otherwise straight path due to the Earth's roatation
doldrums a belt of calm and light baffling winds north of the equator between the northern and southern trade winds in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
westerlies prevailing winds that blow from west to east between 30 degrees and 60 degrees latitude in both hemishperes
easterlies wind blowing from the east
trade winds prevailing winds that blow northeast from 30 degrees north latitude to the equator and that blow southeast from 30 degrees south latitude to the equator
air pressure is the force exerted onto a surface by the weight of the air
northern hemisphere is the half that is north of the equator.
southern hemisphere is the half that is south of the equator.
