| Hemoptysis | Spitting up blood |
| Hemothorax | Blood in the chest (pleural cavity ) |
| Pyothorax | Pus in the chest (pleural cavity ) |
| Sputum | Material expelled from the chest |
| Croup | Acute respiratory syndrome in children |
| Tracheotomy | Incision of the trachea |
| Asthma | Spasm and narrowing of the lungs |
| Hematemesis | Vomiting up blood |
| Emphysema | Abnormal expansion of the lungs alveoli (c.o.p.d) |
| Pneumonia | Inflammation and infection of the lungs |
| Hypercapnia | High carbon dioxide |
| Pnemoconiosis | Dust in the lungs |
| Larynospasm | Contraction of the larynx |
| Laryngitis | Inflammation of the larynx |
| Sinusitis | Inflammation of the sinus |
| Rhinoplasty | Repair of the nose (nose job) |
| Tuberculosis | Bacterial infection of the lungs aND other organs of the body |
| Pulmonary abscess | Large collection of pus in the lungs |
| Atelectasis | Collapsed of the expanded lungs |

| Pneumothorax | Accumulation of air in the lungs |

| Defibrillator | An electrical device used to restore normal heart rhythms |
| Angioplasty | Repair of the blood vessel |
| Percarditis | Inflammation of the membrane surrounding the heart |
| Aneurysm | Widening of a blood vessel |
| Angina pectoris | Chest pain due to low oxygen to the heart muscle |
| Myocardial infarction | Heart attack |
| Hypercholesterolemia | High cholesterol in the blood |
| Cyanosis | Bluish discoloration of the skin |
| Hypoxia | Low oxygen |
| Phlebotomy | Making an incision in the vein |
| Atherosclerosis | Yellow or fat plague deposited inside of an artery |
| Tachycardia | Fast heart rate |
| Thrombosis | A blood clot inside of a blood vessel |
| Embolism | A blood clot that moves from one area of a blood vessel to another area |
| Angiogram | Instrument used to record activities of the blood vessel |
| Endocarditis | Inflammation of the inner lining of the heart |
| Murmur | Abnormality of the heart valves |
| Cardiomegaly | Enlargement of the heart |
| Hemoglobin | Transport oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body, such as the muscles, where it releases the oxygen for cell use |
| Varicose vein | Abnormally swollen and twisted veins usually occurring in the legs |
| Hypertension | High blood pressure |
