| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Force | A Push or pull exerted on an object. |
| Newton | The SI unit used for the magnitude or strength of a force. |
| Net Force | The overall force on an object when all the individual forces acting on it are added together. |
| Unbalanced Forces | Causes an object of the velocity to change. |
| Balanced Forces | Equal forces acting on one object in opposite direction. |
| Friction | 2 surfaces exert pressure on each other. |
| Static | The friction that acts on an object that are not moving. |
| Sliding | When two solid surfaces slide over each other. |
| Fluid | When a solid object moves through a fluid. |
| Rolling | When an object rolls across a surface. |
| Gravity | Force that pulls an object towards e/o. |
| Mass | The amount of matter in an object. |
| Weight | The amount of gravity on an object. |
| Free-Fall | Force of Gravity alone causes an object to accelerate. |
| Air Resistance | Fluid friction of air acts on object falling. |
| Projectile | An object that is thrown will fall just as fast as object dropped will hit the ground at the same time. |
| Compression | Is an elastic force that squeezes or pushes matter together. |
| Tension | An elastic force that stretches or pulls matter. |
| Inertia | The tendency of an object resist a change in motion. |
| Momentum | A characteristic of a moving object that depends on both the mass and the velocity of the object. |
| Law Of Conservation of Momentum | The state that, in the absence of outside forces, the total momentum of objects that interact does not change. |
| Satellite | Any Obj that orbits another obj in space. |
| Centripetal Force | Any force that causes an obj to move in a circular path. |
