| density | the amount of mass in a given space |
| pores | tiny openings in and between particles of rocks and soil that may contain air or water |
| polar molecule | a molecule that is electrically charged |
| surface tension | the tension across the surface of water |
| capillary action | when force is made with water molecules |
| solution | a mixture in which one substance is dizzolved |
| solvent | the part of a solution that is present in the largest amount |
| evaporation | the process in which the water molecules turn into air molecules |
| condensation | when gas turns into water vapor |
| transpiration | the process in which plants release water vapor |
