independent variable the variable that is changed by scientists
dependent variable Change when the independent variable changes
control group The group that does not receive the special treatment
experimental grouup The group that does receive the special treatment
variable something that can change in a test.
hypothesis a statement of what you think will happen during a test
observation something you find out using your 5 senses
inference a conclusion based on observations
data info on which a conclusion can be drawn or a prediction can be made
