What is a galaxy? a large group of stars, dust, and gas held together by gravity
Who is Edwin Hubble? the astronomer who began to classify galaxies
What is a spiral galaxy? galaxy that has a bulge in the center and arms made of gas, dust, and new stars
What is the name of the galaxy in which we live? the Milky Way
What is an elliptical galaxy? a massive ball of stars with very little dust and gas to form new stars
What is an irregular galaxy? groups of stars with an indefinite shape so they don't fit into any other category
What is a nebula? a large cloud of gas and dust in which new stars form
Why is looking through a telescope like looking back in time? because it takes time for light to travel through space
What is the Big Bang Theory? the theory that states the universe began with a tremendous explosion
What is cosmic background radiation? radiation that comes from all directions in space and is left oer from the Big Bang.
How old is the universe? about 14 billion years old
