What two factors determine jurisdiction of federal district courts: subject matter of the case and parties to the case
What are some federal criminal cases? bank robbery, counterfeiting, mail fraud, kidnapping, civil rights abuses
What is Circuit courts of appeals? a party that loses a case in federal district court may appeal to a federal circuit of appeals
What is an Court appointed lawyer? defendants who cannot afford a lawyer are provided with a court appointed private attorney
A bail bond or bail allows: suspects or defendants to remain free while awaiting the next stage
What is an Arraignment? the most common plea which is not guilty
Warrant Requirements or warrant must haves: describe place to be searched and describe persons or evidence to be seized
An information is? A document that outlines the formal charges
