| Ionosphere | layer of electrically charged particles in the troposphere |
| Ozone Layer | protects us from UV radiation |
| Chloroflurocarbon | a group of chemical compounds |
| Radiation | energy transferred by waves or rays |
| Conduction | transfer of energy that occurs when molecules collide |
| Convection | transfer of heat by the flow of material |
| Hydrosphere | all the water on Earth's surface |
| Condensation | process of a gas turning into a liquid |
| Coriolis Effect | the cause of moving air and water turning left in the southern hemisphere and right in the north |
| Jet Stream | narrow belt of strong winds |
| Sea Breeze | movement of air from sea to land during the day |
| Land Breeze | movement of air from land to sea at night |
| Humidity | amount of water vapor in the air |
| Dew Point | temperature at which air is saturated |
| Precipitation | water falling from clouds |
| Weather Front | a boundary between 2 masses of air |
| Weather Station Model | symbolic illustration showing weather occuring at a given reporting station |
| Climate | average weather pattern within an area |
| El Nino | climactic event occurring in the tropical Pacific Ocean |
