| Ionosphere | layer of the atmosphere containing a high concentration of ions |
| ozone layer | layer in the atomosphere that protects us from uv rays |
| chlorofluorocarbon | any class of components that are harmful to the ozone layer |
| radiation | energy that causes ionization |
| conduction | where heat or energy goes through a substance |
| convection | movement caused by a fluid |
| Hydrosphere | water on EarthÅ› surface |
| condensation | water that collects as droplets |
| coriolis effect | mass experiences a force |
| jet stream | strong area of air |
| sea breeze | breeze blowin from sea to land |
| land breeze | breeze going from land to the sea |
| humidity | amount of water vapor in the air |
| dew point | measure of atmospheric moisture |
| precipitation | rain,snow,sleet or hail that falls to the ground |
| weather front | area where 2 air masses collide but don mix |
| weather station model | shows weather occuring at any reporting station |
| climate | weather conditions in an area |
| el nino | irregular occuring and complex series of climate change caused by the Pacific region |
| Global warming | rise in average temperature of the atmosphere and oceans |
