Describe a Stratus Cloud A low, gray cloud that usually brings rain.
Describe a Cumulus Cloud A round, fluffy, white cloud that usually shows up in fair weather.
Describe a Cirrus Cloud A high, wispy cloud made of ice crystals.
Describe a Cumulonimbus Cloud Tall, dark, puffy clouds that bring heavy storms.
What are the four types of Precipitation? rain sleet hail snow
What is Snow, and how does it form? In cold air,water vapor can change directly from a gas to a solid and form a tiny ice crystal around a condensation nucleus.As water molecules freeze onto the crystal,they join at angles that usually form a six-sided flake.
What is Hail, and how does it form? Winds move frozen water drops up and down inside clouds, forming layers of ice that eventually fall to the ground.
What is Sleet, and how does it form? Precipitation in the form of pellets of ice. It starts as snow, melts on the way down, and refreezes before it hits the ground
What is Rain, and how does it form? Tiny water droplets collide and form larger drops that fall to the ground
