TermDefinition
Volume The amount of space something occupies; the amount of space something takes up.
Mass the amount of matter something takes up
Matter anything that has mass or volume
Compress reduce the volume of Something by applying force or pressure
Closed System matter cannot be transferred in or out of the system
Open System matter can be transferred into or out of the system
Particle the smallest piece of a substance that is still that substance
Force a push or a pull
Stock solution A large volume of reactant that has a premeasured concentration
Excess reactant or reagent the extra reactant that remains after the chemical reaction has ended
Limiting Reactant or reagent the reactant that limits how much product can be formed in a chemical reaction; the reaction stops when all of the limiting reactant is all used up.
