Original Remains Fossils that are actual body parts of organisms.
Ice Core Tubular sample that shows and ice that have built up over thousands of year.
Relative age The age of an event or object in relation to other events or objects.
Index fossil Fossils of organism that were common that lived and that existed only during specific spans of time.
absolute age The actual age of an event or object.
Half-life legnth of time it takes for half the atoms
uniformitarianism idea that the same effects on the earth that happened millions of years ago, continue to affect us
Geologic time scale timeline divided into intervals depending on major events
