carbon films a film that is left on a rock and shows soft parts of an animal
trace fossils not animal parts, rather evidence that an animal was there (foot print)
Tree rings something that shows the age of trees
index fossils fossils that existed for specific spans of time
absolute age the exact age of a object or event
half life the measurement of radioactive elements age
geologic time scale divides earths history into intervals of time
