What are some cardiovascular diseases? Atherosclerosis and hypertension
What is atherosclerosis ? Condition in which an artery wall thickens as a rest of the buildup of fatty tissue
What are the effects of atherosclerosis? Reduced blood flow decreasing moving oxygen in arteries
What is a Heart Attack? Occurs when blood flow to party of the heart muscle is blocked causing cells to die
What are treatments for atherosclerosis? Low-fat diet and exercise
What is Hypertension? Diease in which a persons blood pressure is constantly higher than normal 140/90
What are the effects of hypertension? Causes heart to work harder and can cause damage to blood vessels
How can you maintain cardiovascular health? Excercise, a balanced diet low in: saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, sodium and avoid smoking
