Plot terms and definitions

Plot the sequence of events in a story
inciting/initiating event makes the story happen
rising action events before climax
climax turning point of the story
falling action events after climax
resolution end of the story
conflict a struggle between two forces
Protagonist main character of the story
Antagonist character in a struggle with the protagonist
Round character complex; knows alot about the character
Flat character knows little about the character
Dynamic character character changes in the story
Static character remains the same throughout the story
internal conflict a struggle within your self
external conflict a struggle with outside forces
