| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Input | The desired result, or goal, of a system. The output should match the input goal. |
| Process | The part of a system where the work gets done. That work starts when an input command is received by the system and then input resources are combined to produce the output. |
| Output | what a system provides. |
| Feedback | The part of a CLOSED-LOOP system that provides control or measurement of the process and output parts. The feedback loop consists of 3 steps; monitor, compare, compare, and adjust the process and/or output of a system |
| Monitor | To Observe the closed-loop system's process and/or output. |
| Adjustment | A change in the process of a system to cause the actual result (Output) to conform to the desired result (input goal.) |
