Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis The process of converting light energy to chemical energy and storing it in the bonds of sugar.

Chlorophyll Pigment inside of a plant that absorbs sunlight or energy.
Chloroplast The place in the plant in which photosynthesis occurs.
Cotyledon The place where energy is stored in a seed.
Epicotyl The part of the seed where leafs and the stem will come out.
Hypocotyl The connection between the cotyledon and the radicle
Radicle The part of the plant that develops into the roots.
Seed Coat The outer covering of the seed.
Stomata Little openings inside plant cells that take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen.
Roots The part of the plant that sits in the ground and collects nutrients.
