anything that has mass and takes up space matter
descibes the amount of matter in something mass
a measurement of gravitational force on something weight
the amount of space that something take up volume
a measure of the amount of mass in a given volume. Sometimes described as how compact something is. density
a characteristic of something that does not involve a chemical change. Ex density, color, hardness physiclal property
used to characterize materials in reactions that change their identity. Ex: flammability (will it burn) reactivity with oxygen, water and acids. chemical property
a change of one or more physical properties of a something. Ex: crushing a can, melting ice, breaking glass. physical change

law that states energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another. law of conservation of energy
law that states in ordinary chemical and physical changes, mass is not created or destroyed. Mass is only transformed into different substances. Law of conservation of mass
