DNA The genetic material found in all living cells. DNA has the information a living thing needs to grow, take care of itself, and to have offspring. Deoxyribonucleic acid.
cell cycle The order of events in the life of a cell. How a cell grows, takes care of itself, and divides.
cytokinesis The division of cytoplasm after mitosis.
interphase Part of the cell cycle. It's when a cell grows, takes care of itself, and gets ready to divide.

binary fission One way a single living thing makes a copy of itself that has the same genes. Some one-celled organisms reproduce this way. The living thing copies its genetic material, splits in half, and makes two cells. Each cell is a copy of the original cell.
