| Humus | Rotted material that fertilizes the soil and gives it a rich black color |
| Diversity | Variety of species |
| Monoculture | Growing only one type of plant |
| Ecosystem | Everything living and non-living in a given area |
| Abiotic | Non-living factors in an enviroment (ex. wind, tempature, etc...) |
| Producer | An organism that is able to make its own food |
| Consumer | An organism that depends on others for it's food |
| Decomposer | An animal that obtains (gets) it's food by breaking down dead and decaying organisms |
| Carnivore | Animals that eat flesh/meat |
| Herbivore | Animals that eat plants |
| Omnivore | An animal tha eats both plants and animals |
| Scavenger | Consumers that eat dead animals/leftovers |
| Predator | Animals that kill and eat other animals to survive |
| Prey | An animal that is hunted |
| Thermometer | Used to measure temperature |
| Soil Thermometer | Used to measure soil temperature |
| Relative Thermometer | Humidity or moisture in the air |
| Psychrometer | An instrument used to measure relative humidity |
| Anemometer | An instrument used to measure wind speed |
| Moisture Meter | An instrument used to measure the amount of moisture something has |
| Light Meter | An instrument used to measure how much light there is in a given area or light intensity |
