TermDefinition
Experiment A carefully planned test used to discover something unknown.
Observation The things that can be seen during an experiment.
Independent variale The part of the experiment that WE change during the investigation.
Dependent variable The part of the experiment that changes because of the changes we make
Data A collection of observations, measurements and/or facts.
Hypothesis A testable idea that can be used to make an investigation.
Law The rules of the scientific world.
Theory Explains how something happens, but isn't proven.
Empirical evidence Measurements and data collected to support a scientific explanation.
