| Atmosphere | The environment surrounding the planet Earth |
| Crevasse | A deep crack in a glacier |
| Density | The amount of mass of a substance in a certain amount of volume |
| Drainage Basin | The area of land that drains into a body of water |
| Freezing Point | The temperature at which a liquid will change from a liquid to a solid |
| Glacier | A moving mass of ice and snow |
| Global Warming | The increase in the average temperatures of Earth's near-surface air and oceans |
| Gravity | The force that keeps us on the Earth and causes water to run downhill |
| Ground Water | Water that is below the Earth's surface |
| Hydrosphere | Everywhere that there is water on Earth - from the atmosphere down to ground water |
| Iceberg | A large chunk of ice that has fallen off a glacier and crashed into the ocean |
| Lithosphere | The solid rock of Earth's crust |
| Run-off | Water that does not soak into the ground, but flows across the Earth's surface |
| Salinity | The amount of salt dissolved in a certain amount of water |
| Water Cycle | Water's continually-changing form, with no beginning and no end |
