| Renewable Resouce | a natural resource that can be replaced at the same rate at which the resource is consumed |
| Solar | energy derived from the sun in the form of solar radiation. |
| Wind | the movement of air caused by difference in air pressure. |
| Water | the liquid content of a river, inlet, etc., with reference to its relative height, especially as dependent on tide |
| Biomass | organic matter that can be a source of energy; the total mass of the organism in a given area |
| Geothermal | of or relating to the internal heat of the earth. |
| Fuel | combustible matter used to maintain fire, as coal, wood, oil, or gas, in order to create heat or power. |
| Nonrenewable | a resource that forms at a rate that is much slower than the rate at which it is consumed |
| Fossil Fuel | a nonrenewable energy resource formed from the remains of organisms that lived long ago |
| Conservation | official supervision of rivers, forests, and other natural resources in order to preserve and protect them through prudent management. |
| Pollution | the introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment |
| Pollutant | any substance, as certain chemicals or waste products, that renders the air, soil, water, or other natural resource harmful or unsuitable for a specific purpose. |
| Air Pollution | the contamination of the atmosphere by the introduction of air pollutant from human and natural resources |
| Water Pollution | contamination of water, especially surface water, by sewage effluent, fertilizer runoff, industrial chemical discharge etc. |
| Contour Plowing | plowing across a slope following its elevation contour lines. On sloped land, contour plowing is done such that rows are side by side but each row follows a path such that every point on it is at the same elevation. |
| Windbreaks | a growth of trees, a structure of boards, or the like, serving as a shelter from the wind. |
| Conservation Plowing | a technique where farmers plow with the curve of the land insted of in straight lines |
| Crop Rotation | a system or the practice of rotating in a fixed order the kinds of crops, as grain or grass, grown in the same field, as to maintain soil fertility |
| Fallow | (of land) plowed and left unseeded for a season or more; uncultivated. |
