GMSS Rock Cycle

Rock Cycle

TermDefinition
Mineral Can be found in nature, is made up of crystals, and has a specific chemical make up.
Rock Cycle Series of processes that shows how rocks change from one kind of rock to another kind
Sedimentary Rocks Forms when sediments are squeezed and cemented together.
Metamorphic Rock Forms when other rocks are changed by heat and pressure.
Orgin How and where a rock is formed.
Weathering Freezing/thawing that breaks down rocks at the Earth's surface.
Rock Made up of minerals.
Igneous Rock Forms when magma or lava cools and hardens.
Deposition The process in which sediment is laid down in new locations from the water or wind that carries it.
Erosion Process in which water, ice, wind, and gravity moves weathered rock or soil.
