| Term | Definition |

| Rock Cycle | Series of processes that shows how rocks change from one kind of rock to another kind |
| Sedimentary Rocks | Forms when sediments are squeezed and cemented together. |
| Metamorphic Rock | Forms when other rocks are changed by heat and pressure. |
| Orgin | How and where a rock is formed. |
| Weathering | Freezing/thawing that breaks down rocks at the Earth's surface. |
| Rock | Made up of minerals. |
| Igneous Rock | Forms when magma or lava cools and hardens. |
| Deposition | The process in which sediment is laid down in new locations from the water or wind that carries it. |
| Erosion | Process in which water, ice, wind, and gravity moves weathered rock or soil. |
