Ecology the branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings.
Biotic of, relating to, or resulting from living things, especially in their ecological relations.
Abiotic physical rather than biological; not derived from living organisms.
Organism any contiguous living system, such as an animal, plant or bacterium.
Habitat natural environment of an organism
Population summation of all the organisms of the same group or species
Community social group of any size whose members reside in a specific locality
Ecosystem a system, or a group of interconnected elements
Biosphere the ecosystem comprising the entire earth and the living organisms that inhabit it.
Producer as a plant, that is able to produce its own food
Consumer a person or thing that eats or uses something
Decomposer organisms that break down dead or decaying organisms
Herbivore animal that gets its energy from eating plants,
Carnivore an animal that feeds on flesh
Omnivore an animal or person that eats food of both plant and animal
Food chain the sequence of who eats whom in a biological community (an ecosystem)
Food Web the natural interconnection of food chains
