Gynecomastia Enlargement of breast tissue in males (majority around puberty and subsides in 1-2 years)
Dimpling Signifies contraction of fibrotic tissue that may occur with carcinoma
Pear d'orange Appearance indicates edema r/t blocked lymph drainage in carcinoma; enlarged pores and accentuated skin markings
Supernumerary Nipples More common in African American women
Supernumary Nipple Presence A/w renal or cardiac disorders, especially in Caucasians
Nullparous Firm, smooth, and elastic
Parous Soft and loose
Paget's disease Scaling crusts at nipple and may become red or excoriated
Mastitis Single quadrant that is red, swollen, tender and hard
Mastitis Tx is rest, local heat, and antibiotics
