sediment small pieces of rock broken down by weathering and deposited on the land or at the bottom of a body of water.
weathering the breakdown of solid materials into very small particles by water, air, and other natural events.
erosion the gradual wearing down of something from the effects of wind, water, or ice.
deposition the build up of land by the settlement of sediment and soil in a new location.
natural resources any of the useful minerals and other materials that people take from the Earth.
nonrenewable resources a resource that once exhausted can not be replaced in a short amount of time (oil, coal and natural gas).
recycle processing waste items so the materials they are made of can be used to make new items.
reuse using an item over again
reduce using less of a product or a resource
alternative energy resources renewable energy generated by natural processes.
