Earth's Changes

| Landform | A natural feature on the surface of the Earth, such as a mountain, hill, dune, ocean, or river. |
| Delta | A triangular landform where a river empties into another body of water and deposits sediments. |
| Canyon | A deep gorge in the surface of the Earth formed by the erosion of rock by water or sand. |
| Sand Dune | A hill formed by wind blowing and depositing sand. |
| Weathering | The breaking down of rock into smaller pieces from the effects of wind, water, and ice. |
| Deposition | The build up of land by the build up of sediment and soil in a new location. |
| Erosion | The gradual wearing down of rock by wind, water, and other natural forces. |
| V-shaped valley | A low area of land between hills or mountains, typically with a river or stream flowing through it. |
| U-shaped valley | A steep-sided valley caused by glacial erosion |
| Flood plain | A flat area with areas of higher elevation on both sides that is prone to flooding |
| Geologist | A scienctist devoted to the study of the Earth, particularly the solid Earth and the rocks that compose it |
| Glacier | A slowly moving mass or river of ice formed by the accumulation and compaction of snow on mountains or near the poles. |
| Barrier | Anything built or serving to bar passage,or movement from one place to another |
| Extinction | A species no longer in existence, that has ended or died out: |
| Prehistoric | Of or relating to the time or a period prior to recorded history |
| Marine environment | Waters that are saline and tide-affected. |
| Environment | The external surroundings in which a plant or animal lives, which tend to influence its development and behavior |
| Climate | The average pattern of weather for a particular region over a long period of time. |
| Decay | To degrade or break down into smaller parts. |
| Imprint | A mark or depression made by pressure. |
| Model | A limited representation of something that can help us undertand its structure or how it works. |
