TermDefinition
Metamorphic Any rock that has gone under heat and pressure underground but has not become a liquid.
Sedimentary What happens when weathered sediments are eroded and compacted + cemented.
Igneous When any rock is pushed down under the crust of the Earth and heated until it is a liquid then can harden under or above the surface.
Intrusive When an igneous rock hardens under the surface of Earth.
Extrusive When an igneous rock hardens above the surface of Earth.
Magma Molten rock under Earth's surface.
Lava Molten rock above Earth's surface.
