Biology terms for stem cells

prokaryotic any type of unicellular microorganism that lacks a distinct nucleus
eukaryote any organism having as its fundamental structural unit a cell type that contains a nucleus and specialized organelles to assist in life processes
plant cell Eukaryotic cells that differ in several key aspects from animal cells
animal cell Eukaryotic cells that have a distinct cell membrane instead of call walls
stem cell an undifferentiated cell of a multi cellular organism that is capable of indefinitely more cells of the same type,
differentiation the process of making or becoming differentiating the process of growth or developement
enzyme A protein that acts like a biological catalyst
protozoan a single celled microscopic animal of a group of phyla of the kingdom Protista
endoplasmic reticulum a "plumbing system" which is critical in the creation of protein
lysosomes The cell's recycling center full of digestive enzymes
Phospholipid bilayer a two-layered arrangement of phosphate and lipid molecules that form a cell membrane
