Name some melodic features of ritornello theme? Repeated notes, based on doh chord (D major), uses descending scale of D major.
Name a rhythmic feature of ritornello theme? Uses semiquavers.
What is basso continuo? The continuous bass and its supporting harmony in the music of the 17th and 18th centuries, in this concerto its the harpsichord, cello and double bass playing the continuo.
What is figured bass? Numbers written underneath basso continuo to indicate which chords to play.
Name the key of mvt 1? D major
What key does it change to in Ep 1 and how is this related to original key? A major, its the relative dominant (fIfth note up)
What key does it change to in Ep 2 and how is it related to original key? B minor, its the relative minor. Same key signature except b minor has the raised 7th (A sharp written into the score)
