Networking

TermDefinition
Computer Networking Linking several computers together in order to exchange data
Wide Area Network (WAN) A very large network of computers, consisting of many MANs and had to span over 30 miles
Local Area Network (LAN) A very local network, usually housed in one building, such as a home or an office.
Cross Platform Connectivity Connectivity between all computers/platforms, such as connectivity between an Xbox, a laptop, and a router.
Internet The most widely used and known WAN, and the largest WAN in the world.
Intranet A computer network that uses protocols to share and exchange data.
Peripherals Devices "attchments" for a computer, ex. a keyboard, headset, mouse, microphone, monitor, wireless adapter, etc.
