pseudoscience is a belief or practice based on incorrectly applied scientific methods
empirical evidence includes observations and measurements
science the systematic study of natural events and conditions
experiment an organized procedure to study something under controlled conditions
observation the process of obtaining information by using the senses
hypothesis an educated guess
independent variable the factor that is deliberately manipulated
dependent variable changes as a result of manipulation of one or more independent variables.

law a description of a specific relationship under given conditions in the natural world.
