| Sphere | Denoting a structure or region of spherical form |
| Atmosphere | The envelope of gases surrounding the earth or another planet |
| Hydrosphere | All the water on earths surface |
| Geosphere | Any of the almost spherical concentric regions of matter that make up the earth and its atmosphere |
| Biosphere | The regions of the surface, atmosphere, and hydrosphere of the earth occupied by living organisms |
| Gravity | The force that attracts a body towards the center of the earth |
| Density | The degree of compactness of a substance |
| Solar Nebula | Describes the formation of our Solar System from a nebula cloud made from a collection of dust and gas |
| Crust | The outer layer of the earth |
| Mantle | The region of the earth's interior between the crust and the core, believed to consist of hot, dense silicate rock |
| Lithosphere | The rigid outer part of the earth, consisting of the crust and upper mantle |
| Asthenosphere | The upper layer of the earth's mantle, below the lithosphere, in which there is relatively low resistance to plastic flow and convection is thought to occur |
| Core | The dense central region of a planet, especially the nickel–iron inner part of the earth |
| Magnetosphere | The region surrounding the earth or another astronomical body in which its magnetic field is the predominant effective magnetic field |
| Landform | A natural feature of the earth's surface |
| Plain | Plains are broad, nearly level stretches of land that have no great changes in elevation |
| Plateau | An area of relatively level high ground |
| Mountain | A large natural elevation of the earth's surface rising abruptly from the surrounding level; a large steep hill |
