| hypothesis | prediction about a problem that can be tested, based on your current knowledge. |
| variable | changeable factors |
| control | standard for comparison |
| theory | scientific explanation backed by results obtained from repeated tests and experiment |
| law | rule of nature that describes the behavior of something in nature. They don't explain the "why." |
| mass | amount of matter in an object. Does not change with gravity. |
| weight | measures gravitational force on mass |
| volume | how much space an object occupies |
| density | how much matter is inside physical space. |
