TermDefinition
Mass Amount of matter in an object.
Volume Amount of space occupied by an object
Length A measure of the straight-line distance between two points.
Milliliters Metric unit of measurement that measures volume.
Centimeters A metric unit of length that is 1/100 of a meter
Grams Basic unit for mass
Hypothesis A possible answer to a scientific question or explanation for a set of observations.
Investigation A careful search or examination to uncover facts.
Graph A visual aid used to show statistical trends and patterns
Analyze Interpret data to reach conclusions
Graduated Cylinder Used to measure the volumes of liquids and small solids
Thermometer An instrument used to measure temperature
Triple Beam Balance An instrument that uses a set of three sliding riders to balance an unknown weight on the pan.
Observation A direct method of gathering information in an orderly way.
