Aspirin Any for human use in oral form. EXCEPTION: Effervescent tablets with no more than 15% (but it must have an oral LD50 of 5g/kg or more), and Unflavored preparations in powder form (but not for peds) that are unit dosed with no more than 15.4 grains
Furniture Polish 10% or more petrolatum distillates
Methyl Salicylate (oil of wintergreen) Liquid preparations with more than 5% by weight. Exemptions: pressurized spray containers, creams, ointments.
Controlled drugs for oral human use. No exceptions
Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Hydroxide In dry form containing 10% or more by weight, in other forms containing 2% or more by weight
Turpentine 10% or more by weight
Kindling/illuminating preparations 10% or more by weight of petroleum distillates
Methyl Alcohol (methanol) 4% or more by weight
Sulfuric Acid 10% or more by weight
Prescription Drugs Any drug for human use in oral dosage form that is required to be dispensed by prescription
Ethylene Glycol 10% or more
Iron containing drugs non-injectable, animal and human drugs with a total amount of 250 mg elemental iron PER PACKAGE for therapeutic/prophylactic purposes
Iron containing dietary supplements 250 mg or more elemental iron per package
Solvents for paint 10% or more benzene, toluene, xylene, petroleum distillates
Acetaminophen containing more than 1 gram per package. EXCEPTION: Effervescent tablets with no more than 15% (but it must have an oral LD50 of 5g/kg or more), and Unflavored preparations in powder form (but not for peds) that are unit dosed with no more than 13 grains
Diphenhydramine containing more than 66 mg per package
Glue removers with acetonitrile more than 500 mg in the container
Permanent wave neutralizers more than 600 mg sodium bromate or 50 mg potassium bromate
Ibuprofen 1 gram or more per package
Loperamide more than 0.045 mg per package
Mouthwash 3 grams or more ethanol per package
Lidocaine more than 5 mg per package. Includes all dosage forms including creams, sprays, transdermal packages.
Dibucaine more than 0.5 mg per package. Includes all dosage forms including creams, sprays, transdermal packages.
Naproxen 250 mg or more per package
Ketoprofen more than 50 mg per package
Fluoride more than 50 mg elemental and more than 0.5 % in a single package
Minoxidil more than 14 mg per package. topical otc must comply with special packaging requirements.
Methacrylic Acid more than 5% w/v per package
OTC Drug products that contain any ingredient that was previously available only with an rx
Hazardous substances with low-viscosity hydrocarbons 10% or more by weight
Drugs and cosmetics with low-viscosity hydrocarbon 10% or more by weight with a viscosity of less than 100 SUS 100 degrees F
Sublingual nitroglycerin EXEMPTED
Sublingual, chewable isosorbide dinitrate EXEMPTED if 10 mg or less
Erythromycin ethylsuccinate granules for oral suspension/oral suspensions EXEMPTED if not more than 8g of erythromycin
Erythromycin ethlsuccinate tablets EXEMPTED if in package containing no more than 16g of erythromycin
Anhydrous cholestyramine in powder form EXEMPTED
Potassium supplements in unit dose forms EXEMPTED if no more than 50 mEq per unit dose (includes effervescent tabs unit dose vials of liquid, and powdered packets)
Sodium fluoride EXEMPTED with no more than 264 mg per package (includes liquid and tablet)
Betamethasone tablets EXEMPTED if in manufacturer's package with no more than 12.6 mg
Mebendazole tablets EXEMPTED if no more than 600 mg
Methylprednisolone tablets EXEMPTED if no more than 84 mg
Colestipol powder EXEMPTED if no more than 5 grams
Pancrelipase EXEMPTED - preparations in tablet, capsule, powder form
Cyclic Oral Contraceptives (with progesterone and/or estrogen)- in memory aid dispenser EXEMPTED
Prednisone tablets EXEMPTED if no more than 105 mg per package
Conjugated estrogen tablets - in memory aid dispenser EXEMPTED if no more than 32 mg per package
Norethindrone - in memory aid dispenser EXEMPTED if no more than 50 mg per package
Medroxyprogesterone acetate EXEMPTED
Sacrosidase (sucrase) EXEMPTED if preparation in solution of glycerol and water
